We have a recycling area that give us free compost too. It is so nice to finally see these things going on throughout the country.Carla https://www.blogger.com/profile/11916690492134807112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5869596781823908683.post-57418895883550395552012-03-05T19:49:39.925-05:002012-03-05T19:49:39.925-05:00We too have a local sewage landfill where the wast...We too have a local sewage landfill where the waste gets reprocessed into usable compost. A fellow Master Gardener friend swears by it, but I have never tried it as you have to take it by the truckload. At the farm and nursery, they make the compost and I am lucky enough to get as much as I need for free. Free is good. Thrifty is good. The image you showed looks like really good compost too.Donna@GWGThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14170802942464666382noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5869596781823908683.post-79727577218188398542012-03-05T16:25:10.140-05:002012-03-05T16:25:10.140-05:00That's too bad, Tina. I just visited your blog (which I've added to my blog roll) and I saw your daffodils. I never planted any bulbs but some just popped up in my backyard and they've been coming back ever since.

AngelaAngelahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14614391502032930541noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5869596781823908683.post-37012874686612392912012-03-05T14:41:14.265-05:002012-03-05T14:41:14.265-05:00Lucky you! The county used to sell mulch cheaply but now sells it to a firm in Alabama that uses it for something and our county makes more money. I wish a composter would open up here as I can never make enough at home. It's such great stuff too!@tinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17415302577518111227noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5869596781823908683.post-26998946666824085512012-03-04T20:53:04.511-05:002012-03-04T20:53:04.511-05:00Here in Evanston, Illinois, the city used to run a...Here in Evanston, Illinois, the city used to run a terrific municipal composting operation. It provided free compost to anyone who showed up with a shovel and a container. Sadly, some neighbors complained about the smell, and the program was shut down. The difficulty is getting it broken down fully before tree roots and weeds try to get their share.

The photo in your header looks like vegetable gardening nirvana.sweetbayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06248743114944736346noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5869596781823908683.post-25869472940679197102012-03-02T19:22:36.761-05:002012-03-02T19:22:36.761-05:00Hi Angela,

I am going to need to spend less money on gardening this summer. I'll have to check more of your tips.

I couldn't find a way to follow your blog, but added it to my sidebar.

Thanks for your comment on my last post.Corner Gardener Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10631500918579405664noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5869596781823908683.post-40783241478006078292012-03-02T16:12:49.361-05:002012-03-02T16:12:49.361-05:00How great to have free compost from the county. We have two compost tumblers and a worm bin...but with an acre and a half, I could always use more!Janet, The Queen of Seafordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07876204203323750245noreply@blogger.com
